Martin Szekely

Born in 1956 and trained at the Écoles Boulle and Estienne, Martin Szekely first came to prominence with his inaugural furniture collection, Pi. Developed between 1982 and 1985 thanks to a carte blanche from Via (Valorisation de l’Innovation dans l’Ameublement), the collection notably included the iconic Pi chaise longue.

Since then, his work has been divided into two main bodies. On one hand, limited series of research-driven furniture and objects, regularly exhibited in galleries. On the other, industrial products and commissions, developed in collaboration with manufacturers and through public projects.
