EOC-1 Console in Stuc Marbré

The EOC-1 Console in Stuc Marbré is a collaboration between Emmanuel Outy and AA Matière workshop artist Amandine Antunez.

Stuc Marbré is a savoir-faire that appeared in Italy in the 17th century. Amandine Antunez learned the techniques from a French specialist, then developed her own practice and experience.

In order to free herself from synthetic pigments from the petrochemical industry, Amandine gleans plant materials around her workshop in the south of France, then extracts the pigments herself.

In search for a sustainable process, the local and seasonal harvesting of these materials is enhanced through a collaboration with Tellem, a manual printing workshop specialized in natural colors.

Mixed with the plaster, and worked over several passes, the extracted color and tannins give birth to a sensitive natural material with delicate nuances. The console produced for the gallery is composed of the following elements:

Traditional plaster of Paris, natural glue, Persicaire leaves (Indigo), Madder roots (Rose), Mimosa flowers (Yellow), Celandine whole plant (Yellow), Rumex leaves (Green).

Traditional plaster of Paris, natural glue, Cachou (peel), Acacia (bark), Madder (root), Henna and Walnut husk.
